水面に映る月をモチーフとした意匠が施された優美な趣、鉋仕上げによる木の質感や香りから職人の技術がうかがえる。
阿波指物は、徳島藩の阿波水軍を支えた船大工の技術を背景に発展した木工技術である。
精巧な組子細工と、地域の自然をモチーフとした意匠を特徴とする。

Awa sashimono is a woodworking tradition that developed from the techniques of ship carpenters who supported the Awa navy of the Tokushima domain.
It is characterized by precise kumiko joinery and designs inspired by the natural environment of the region.
